Day 15

I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.

—GENESIS 28:15

Through all of my years of forgetting, I clung to God with everything inside of me. I never lost my faith in him, I just lost my faith in people and in myself.

I remember the day when I felt God start calling me to wake up, to remember, to come out of hiding. He spoke to me by putting a picture in my mind that I will never forget. I saw myself crawling out from my hiding place and when I looked back at the place I had been, spiritually, for almost a decade, I could see the mark of my body where I had been laying—a place kind of hollowed out in the dirt. And then I noticed another spot hollowed out beside mine. In this moment, I felt Him say to me: “That was where I was. With you the whole time. I promised I would never leave you and I never did. I never will.”

God isn’t only with us when we FEEL him with us. His faithful presence in the valleys and on the plains and in the desert is unfailing.

His promise to me is the same as his promise to you. He never left you and He never will. There is nothing you have done and nothing that has been done to you that excludes you from the hope-filled future that God has planned for you.

It is time for you to come out of hiding. It is time for you to remember the things you forgot when life took you out at the knees. It’s time for you to remember passion and joy. It’s time for you to remember that God is NOT DONE what He wants to do IN you and He’s NOT DONE what He wants to do THROUGH you.

He’s calling all of us, young and old, to get up, brush ourselves off and get back into the fight.

There are people in your life who need you. There are people in your family, in your neighbourhood, at school, at work who need you. Not someone else, YOU.

God hears the cries of people’s hearts—He hears them when they say into the darkness “Are you even out there God?” and his answer to them is YOU. He sends YOU to show them that He hears them, that He loves them, that He has a future for them filled with hope. God’s plan for you isn’t done.

Get up, brush yourself off and get back into the fight.
