“I am so honoured to serve the youth of Southside Church as the Youth Pastor.  

Young people are a window into what the world, culture, and church will look like in the future. At a heart level, I believe they want just to truly be known and loved by those around them.  The idea that teenagers have a short attention span or just want to be entertained in my opinion is simply not true. Teenagers are looking to have genuine connection, to encounter people who are who they say that they are and value what truly matters.  In a world where trends come and go on a daily, if not hourly basis, teenagers are looking for something that has stood the test of time. 

I believe that in order for young people today to encounter Jesus, we need to stop trying to make Him “cool” or curating an experience of what we think that young people want when it comes to Jesus.  The truth is, that nothing but the truth will be satisfactory, nothing but a real, genuine encounter and relationship with Jesus will change the lives of our young people.”
