Are you looking for a place to get involved? Here at SouthSide we encourage people to be a part of a program or ministry. What are your giftings? Chances are, we have a place that’s right for you. In early 2007, Dianna Duerksen came on staff at SouthSide specifically to work with volunteers. You may already know what you'd like to do, or perhaps you're willing to go wherever needed, but either way Dianna will be able to help.

Youth Program
Opportunities for involvement include weekly small group leadership, set-up and take-down, food preparation, supervision, etc. Lots of different ways to help. Let Mike know what you can do, and he can likely use you!

Set-up and Take-Down
For every Sunday morning service, we set-up our stage, chairs, coffee stations, tables, signs, and sound system. And then after each service we take it all down again. This is one are where we can always use more help!

Ushers and Greeters
Our Ushers and Greeters are critical to our Sunday mornings. Greeters get the first opportunity to make people feel welcome as they greet them and give them a bulletin. Ushers help people feel comfortable as they help people find seating, and answer any questions people might have.

Nursery
Our nursery staff are entrusted with an important responsibility: to take care of children under the age of 2. If working with children is an area that interests you, and you’re a regular attender at SouthSide, let us know! The nursery runs during both the 9am and 11am services.

Kids Church
Each week, between 150-175 children attend Kids Church. It’s a great time for kids to be together, have a blast and learn about the Bible. Kids Church runs during both our 9am and 11am services each week. We’re always looking for Kids Church leaders to lead games, stories, and lessons for children’s classes. It’s a lot of fun!

Young Adults
Our Young Adults group meets regularly for small groups and special activities, under the leadership of Jim Fry. If you’re interested in helping out, send him an e-mail or give him a call at the Church office.

Computer Team
Our computer team’s job is to ensure that on Sunday mornings our announcement and worship slides run efficiently and effectively. If you’re computer veteran, then this is the place for you. Experience using Powerpoint or MediaShout is a bonus.

Alpha
This is a great program that combines great food and new friends with the basics of the Christian faith. Steve and Kelly Lerigny oversee Alpha with a large team of volunteers who help prepare meals and facilitate discussion. Interested in being part of Alpha?

Weekly Bulletin
Each week at the office we prepare enough bulletins for 400-500 people. Helping to fold and assemble the bulletin is an easy, but critical job. No special skills here, just a willingness to help and work with friendly people!

Sound Crew
It takes a lot of work to assemble and then disassemble our sound system every week. Luckily we’ve got some skilled people overseeing this area. But it takes a team to get this job done, and we’re always needing more help.

There are many opportunities for you to contribute to our church website. This is more than a website, it's a web ministry. Opportunities for you to get involved include writing, editing, photography, chat room hosts, chat room contributors, discussion forum moderators, website checkers, Internet surfers/researchers, email responders, graphic designers, pray-ers, marketing and promotions, website card distributors, and more.
