Brock (75x75) All of us remember how good Todd Bertuzzi was before the incident when he broke another player’s neck.  Many people would have said that Bertuzzi was one of the most naturally gifted players in the NHL.  Unfortunately there was always one problem with Todd; he only played hard when he wanted to.  He didn’t practice with intensity and some nights it seemed as if he didn’t even show up to play.  Now, in the twilight of his career there is nothing he can do to get that talent back.  He wasted what could have been a legendary career.

Some time ago I was standing on a bridge looking down at the stream flowing beneath me and the thought of how important it was to stop and listen to God came to me in a new way.

God showed me that as the water was rushing down over the rocks, it was like life.  Crashing, tumbling and swirling down - with no respect what-so-ever of what it took along with it.  As I continued to watch the stream, I also noticed that along the sides of the rushing water were small, peaceful, calm and serene pools of water.
