Many people over the years have tried to predict the future. Remember the Jamaican psychic, Cleo? She was rich because everyone asked her to predict their future. As it turns out, she ended up in jail because they proved her to be a fraud. I guess she didn’t see that in her future.
There was also a movement titled “88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Be in 1988”. Then, of course, there was the ever-famous Y2K theory which boldly predicted the Apocalypse in the year 2000. Both of those predictions came up empty handed and left many people with basements full of powdered beverages and canned food, not to mention bruised egos.
The truth is that no one knows when Jesus is coming back. That is why we should take advantage of every opportunity to share Jesus with others. We don’t know how many chances we will get in this life. With that in mind we should use every chance we get to share Jesus and let that fuel us to live lives that honour God.
